Scott Borg

With a string of international awards under his belt, Augustine Artist Scott Borg has been praised as a daring and innovative performer with “enormous facility on the guitar, a fluent technique, who plays with total confidence and professional expertise, panache and artful spontaneity.” His previous engagements have included performances in Mexico, Peru, Australia, Spain, New York’s Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Apollo Theater, and the Kennedy Center. He received his DMA (NEC), AD (Yale University), MM (Juilliard), and a BCA Hons I (UOW) and holds the AMEB’s highest honor, the Fellowship of Music, Australia. Currently on faculty at Montgomery College, he is also Artistic Director of the Mid-Maryland Guitar Festival, and is conductor of the Baltimore Classical Guitar Society Orchestra. He is a member of the breakthrough trio The Great Necks, whose debut album released on the Sony/Frameworks label reached No.10 on the Traditional Classical Billboard charts. His debut solo CD “On an Overgrown Path” was released on the Odradek Label. He plays “Aranda”, a guitar by Stephen Connor.
